The business and finance manager is responsible for all the financial transactions and reporting for both the American Boat & Yacht Council and the ABYC Foundation. This position requires a highly organized individual with the ability to keep a watchful eye on the financial health of both organizations. This individual will also be required to interact with board members as well as members of the business and finance committee. This position reports directly to the president.
Travel: possible annual meeting participation in various US locations
Hours: Full Time
Produce a draft budget for board voting by 1 September annually.
Maintain QuickBooks (chart of accounts, budgets etc.) and the association management system (AMS) interface
Maintain controls (e.g. expense reporting, inventory) for staff to follow resulting in a streamlined process with accurate reporting.
Create and maintain relevant, timely reports to accurately assess the financial conditions of the company down to the department level.
Advise the president weekly on financial trends, provide bank balances every Friday to the president and Foundation executive director
Report monthly to the Finance committee and twice annually to the executive/Foundation Board (may require short-stay travel). Schedule monthly conference calls.
Prepare for ABYC and the Foundation’s annual audit, approve and circulate the resulting documents.
Maintain all ABYC bank accounts and ensure accurate on-demand reporting and reconciliation for the president and members of the finance committee.
Work with the operations coordinator on grant financial matters.
