As part of the Suzuki Technical Training and Publications team, will be responsible for the design, development and execution of training classes for Suzuki marine dealers and Suzuki field personnel regarding all aspects of Suzuki marine products. Subject matter is, but not limited to, the operation, servicing, maintenance and troubleshooting of outboard motors. Responsible for all aspects of curriculum development for instructor-led courses and computer based training. Will utilize effective needs analysis, project management and evaluation skills to design and develop curriculum content, training materials, e-learning modules, and any other necessary teaching aids. Instruct dealer personnel using various teaching techniques, such as lectures with PowerPoint support, discussions, demonstrations and computer based training. Develop hands-on exercises, scenarios and assessments, tracking participant results. Support the ServicePRO Learning Management System (LMS) through coordination with suppliers and technology experts. Responsible for presenting training and supervising students in lab excercises. Will need to coordinate with Suzuki Technical Service Managers (TSMs) and the SMAI training centers in Brea, California and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, while based in Saint Augustine, Florida. Must communicate pro-actively with the home office in Brea.
strong technical knowledge and expertise required, with emphasis on outboard motors
three years’ experience as an instructional designer or instructor in the marine industry
Must be able to travel 20%, nationally and internationally
Presentation skills required to conduct technical training classes
Excellent communication skills; written, oral and listening.
Strong PC knowledge; Microsoft Office - Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline 2 and Camtasia.
Ability to work independently and on a team. Must be able to work effectively without supervision.
Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and to move outboard motors in and out of test tanks assisted by an overhead crane.
Job requires long hours of sitting and standing.
Suzuki technical experience preferred
